Early Childhood Education, Resource and Support Services

First Nations Early Childhood Education (ECE) Resource Support Service

The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Resource Service is:

  •  funded by the County of Lambton
  • single point of access for special needs services for children, birth – 6 attending or planning to attend licensed childcare and home day care settings.

Early Learning Teachers work as a team with ECE staff and clinical staff from Pathways Health Centre for Children to support the integration and inclusion of children in the licensed childcare system.

Children identified as having physical, communicative or developmental needs receive individualized, family based services in licensed childcare settings and licensed home day care settings according to their needs.

Once a child is admitted to the ECE Resource Support Service they can access any of the services that Pathways offers through a referral process. The intent is to take the services to the child in the licensed setting that they attend.

The ECE, Resource Support Social Worker provides individual counseling and support as well as running parent support groups and educational groups as needed for the parents of children attending licensed childcare centres and licensed home day care settings.

Eligible families may qualify for financial assistance. Please refer to Lambton County Childcare Services for further information. Early Learning Resource Teachers and the ECE, Resource Support Social Worker will be happy to assist families with this process.
