Social WorkBeing a person with special needs or being part of a family with a person with special needs brings with it opportunities and challenges. Many of the ordinary events of life with children can be more difficult for Pathways clients and their families: things like managing the ups and downs of growing up, starting or changing school, finding friends, getting linked up with welcoming and fun community activities, navigating the teen years. You can get information, encouragement, programming and individual support in response to life situations that young people and their families find especially challenging, from our social workers. They can put you in touch with community resources such as:
- Specialised counselling
- Financial aid
- Respite services
- Child care
- Referrals to other agencies
