Important Message to Families of C.A.C.H.É. Child Care

Dear C.A.C.H.É. Families,

Happy New Year! We hope that you all enjoyed some quality time over the holidays to rest, relax and re-energize!

While the schools have delayed their return date, C.A.C.H.É. will be open on Monday, January 3rd as planned. On Dec 30th the Ministry of Education announced some changes to the current COVID-19 protocols for child cares. We will be sending out our updated procedures later this week however, we want to let you know to expect revisions to the daily COVID-19 screening questions. The Ministry is reinstating a more sensitive COVID-19 symptom list for all children and staff Please continue to follow the process that was in place prior to the holidays i.e. complete screening at home and send an email to verify to C.A.C.H.É. at

Isolation protocols have also been revised. Anyone who has symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 or is a confirmed positive case must self-isolate, regardless of vaccination status. If a child or educator is experiencing at least one symptom most commonly associated with COVID-19 or two or more symptoms less commonly associated with COVID-19 they must self-isolate as per public health guidelines. If a child/educator is experiencing only one symptom less commonly associated with COVID-19 they must stay home until their symptom(s) has been improving for 24 hours (48 hours for nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea). The Ministry is also requiring that household members, including siblings, stay home until the household member experiencing symptom(s) is cleared from their isolation.

We will continue to communicate more details as they become available. Thank you for your ongoing cooperation to help keep our child care centre safe.
