The Family Networking Room

The Family Networking Room is a family-friendly collection of information to help families understand their child’s diagnosed condition or disability. There are also resources explaining child development, family dynamics, and coping with a child’s disability.  Everyone is welcome to use the Family Networking Room. Clients, family members, teachers and Centre staff may borrow resource materials.

P.A.G.

The Parent Advisory Group (PAG) represents the voice of families receiving services at Pathways Health Centre for Children.  This group meets monthly and their focus is to ensure families feel they have an ally in the Centre that understands the challenges they may be experiencing with their child’s care and that any issues and/or concerns will be directed to the appropriate member of  Staff, Senior Management and/or the Board of Directors. Families can connect to any of our PAG members by emailing kholland@pathwayscentre.org

Pathways Parent Support Groups

Open Parent Support Group

When: 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

This informal group meets once a month in the front foyer and is open to any caregiver of a child receiving services at Pathways.  This group is drop in, but if families would like to get a reminder email/call they need to register with the Parent Advisor @ ext. 291.

ASD Parent Support Group

When: 4th Wednesday of the month from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.

This group meets once a month in the front foyer and is open to any caregiver who has a child with Autism.  This group is drop-in, but if families would like a reminder email/call they need to register with the Parent Advisor @ ext. 291.

Wednesday Morning Parent Support Group

When: Every Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m.-12:00p.m. in the Family Networking Room.

This group is open to caregivers of children with a physical disability.  This group is drop-in, but if families would like a reminder email/call they need to register with the Parent Advisor @ ext. 291. 

Online Parent Support Group- This group is available to caregivers of Pathways clients. Our private e-community in partnership with Ability Online offers caregivers an opportunity to connect with other caregivers at a time that suits them.   People can register through the Parent Advisor (fast track method) or if they choose to register themselves they must disclose on the registration form that they are a Pathways family to get access to our private forums.  The Administrator of Ability Online reconfirms with the Parent Advisor of Pathways that this information is accurate. 

Parent Pamper Events - Twice a year we offer a pampering experience to parents.  This relaxing, social event offers caregivers a bit of respite in their busy lives.  Hairstyles, manicures and other luxuries are offered.  Childcare is provided at these events and registration is required to attend.

Parent Support Group

Join our online support group for parents/guardians of Pathways Kids!

If your child is currently receiving services at Pathways Health Centre for Children, you are eligible to join this closed (non-public), members-only group.

An Ability Online account is required.

Go to:  www.abilityonline.org then click on Register - Please mention you are a "Pathways parent".

Anyone can request to join the group, but only those verified as parents/guardians of Pathways Kids will be approved to join by the Group Administrator.

You can fast track the approval process by sending an email to the Group Administrator who will go over the intake process with you: kholland@pathwayscentre.org
