“Volunteering – a great way to grow!”

We welcome high school students and adults to contact our Supervisor of Student and Volunteer Services at 519-542-3471 ext. 1280 or 1-855-542-3471 to find out about volunteer opportunities and to schedule an initial interview.

Four types of volunteer opportunities are offered, depending on experience, interest and availability of programs:

  1. Program Volunteer* with children / youth e.g., aquatic sessions, C.A.C.H.É. Child Care Service, Therapeutic Recreation, etc.
  2. Clerical Volunteer* e.g., filing, mailing, reception
  3. Special Event Volunteer** (Fundraising / Community Relations) e.g., BBQs, raffles and ticket sales, car shows, art show, golf tournaments, Secret Santa, set up and tear down at events
  4. Board of Director
To advise, govern, oversee policy and direction and assist with the leadership and general promotion of Pathways so as to support the organization's mission and needs.

*These types of volunteers usually come at a set time every week and must go through a multi-step screening process, which includes a Police Vulnerable Sector Check, proof of immunizations, an interview and references.

**These volunteers are contacted as needed and go through an abbreviated screening process.

Why do people volunteer?

  • to have fun
  • to meet people
  • to feel appreciated/needed
  • to utilize/develop skills
  • to give back to the community
  • to enhance resume for school/job
  • to make a difference

Pathways is always looking for a diversified mix of volunteers to join our Board of Directors.  If you would like to become a member of our Board of Directors, please see the information sheet and application form below.
