Behaviour Consultation

Helps families find solutions to behaviour issues and find new ways of interacting with one another

What is Behaviour Consultation?

Behaviour Consultation is an approach that involves you, your child and all people directly involved in your child’s care.  Our goal is to help you and your family find solutions to the problems you are facing. Creating a workable plan to help your child and family learn new ways of behaving and interacting with one another is a major aspect of this therapy.  Ongoing support is provided through individual sessions, weekly check-in’s, and the opportunity to participate in behaviour-related workshops.

Goals of Behaviour Consultation:

  • To provide families with a comprehensive assessment of behavioural challenges/needs experienced by their child
  • To help parents, children and teenagers understand the nature and possible cause(s) of their difficulties
  • To give practical recommendations to help decrease problems, increase support and assist in the development of effective coping skills
  • To offer a family-centered therapeutic approach that works with the ‘whole’ child
  • To develop, enhance, and support effective parental discipline skills in working with behavioural challenges
