What We Do:
Pathways Health Centre for Children partners with McMaster Children’s Hospital, Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre West Region Hub to offer diagnostic assessments to children in Lambton County when there is a query of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Referring children to the ASD Diagnostic Hub Clinic
- Pathways’ clinicians can refer to the ASD Diagnostic Hub after discussing a referral with the child’s caregiver/legal guardian and may seek the input of the child’s pediatrician or primary care practitioner, or
- A pediatrician or primary care practitioner can refer to the ASD Diagnostic Hub by completing the required referral form from our West Region Hub. Pathways will connect with the caregiver/legal guardian to discuss the referral.
Pathways ASD Diagnostic Hub Clinic
For Pathways’ ASD Diagnostic Hub Clinic, the diagnostician may be:
- a local pediatrician,
- a visiting pediatrician from another community,
- or a psychologist.
Families will be offered an ASD Diagnostic Hub Clinic appointment in order of the date their referral was received. Some pre-clinic paperwork and appointments may be required prior to confirming a clinic date.
