Full statement from Alison Morrison, CEO, Pathways Health Centre for Children…
“When the opportunity to nominate someone for an Empowered Kids Ontario Tribute award came to our attention, Dave Schaller quickly came to mind. As we reached out to the community for support of the nomination, those we contacted responded with words rich with gratitude for Dave’s work – and Dave’s way of being! This community has been made stronger, more accessible and more inclusive because of Dave Schaller! At Pathways we recognize Dave as a champion for all abilities, helping the organization become a leader in inclusion and accessibility, and most importantly, helping children and their families see possibility! Folks like Dave don’t go about their life’s work looking for recognition – it is driven by passion and purpose. We are so pleased, that from time to time, an opportunity arrives to publicly celebrate the impact of an individual’s life work, and this Empowered Kids Ontario Service Award offers just that, a chance to celebrate Dave! Pathways is grateful to have had Dave within our walls for over 30 years. Since his retirement in 2022, he continues to support the organization, and his legacy of championing inclusion and accessibility remain a central principle of our work.”
