The 2024 EKO Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for students enrolling or enrolled in college, university, Indigenous institutes, and career training/vocational programs in Fall 2024.
Students who have been or currently receive services from Pathways Health Centre for Children and other EKO members, are eligible to receive an award of $2,500 to help support their higher education and career goals. Six awards are available, including one award dedicated to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis youth.
Post-secondary education is an important element for achieving independence, yet people with disabilities are less likely to attend and complete post-secondary education than those without disabilities. Our hope is that the EKO Scholarship helps more students with disabilities achieve the life they want through post-secondary, career training, and graduate education.
Pathways is a long-standing member of EKO, the provincial association that represents Ontario’s child development sector and like Pathways, care for kids with disabilities and developmental differences. Together with our EKO colleagues, the sector provides services and programs to more than 150,000 kids every year, at home, in schools and in the community.
The deadline to submit applications is April 30, 2024. More details are available in the attached flyer, and on the Empowered Kids Ontario website at: EKO – The Empowered Kids Ontario Scholarship Program.
As part of the EKO Scholarship application process, students must submit a letter from Pathways Health Centre for Children confirming the applicant received services. Please direct requests for this letter to our System Administrator, Julia Cottam.
